Job summary

Jubilant HollisterStier is seeking a Senior Specialist, EHS to lead and improve the site’s environmental, health and safety initiatives in Spokane. You will partner with Operations, Engineering and Quality to foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliant operations.

You will develop and refine EHS programs, perform risk assessments, and lead investigations while coordinating training and emergency preparedness across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, engineering, industrial hygiene or related science.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) an asset.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in Health, Safety & Environment position.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
• Experience supporting a radiation safety program is an asset.
• Available to respond to emergencies at all times (7 days a week, 24 hours a day).

Responsibilities

• Promote a proactive health and safety culture focused on prevention, employee engagement, and accountability at all levels of the organization.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, procedures, and tools to prevent injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents.
• Advise managers and employees on EHS matters and support integration of health and safety into day-to-day operations.
• Support site EHS committees and initiatives and facilitate their activities.
• Maintain documentation, records, permits, and other required information to demonstrate regulatory and internal compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to integrate EHS requirements into capital projects and new facilities.
• Lead investigations following incidents, accidents, and near misses plus root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or related science
