Job summary

Biovire in Brighton, Michigan is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to build and advance our Environmental, Health & Safety Management System and strengthen proactive risk identification, ownership, and sustainable safety performance.

This highly visible senior individual-contributor role partners with leaders across the organization to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions and to shape Biovire's long-term EHS strategy and annual roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local EHS regulations.
• Experience with hazardous-materials management, SDS, hazardous-waste characterization, storage, disposal.

Responsibilities

• Grow and improve the EHS Management System.
• Help establish long-term EHS strategy and annual roadmap.
• Advise leaders on EHS requirements and risk-reduction strategies.
• Ensure ownership and resources for EHS decisions and corrective actions.
• Strengthen safety culture and accountability through partnership and initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs, standards, tools, and training.
• Manage environmental permits, registrations, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead site Waste Management, hazardous-waste characterization, storage, and disposal.
• Plan and conduct EHS inspections and track findings and corrective actions.
• Lead Safety Committee and communicate EHS decisions.
• Lead investigations of incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Deliver EHS training and train-the-trainer programs.
• Support emergency preparedness and drills.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate EHS into projects and processes.
• Coordinate third-party EHS consultants and regulators.
• Monitor EHS performance and communicate risks to leadership.
