Job summary

Piramal Pharma Solutions in Michigan is seeking a Sr. EHS Specialist to support the Associate Director of EHS in developing, implementing, and monitoring site EHS programs that protect workers, visitors, contractors, the community, and the environment, while complying with FDA, EPA, OSHA, MIOSHA regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Master’s degree in EHS or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
• EHS Certifications are a plus (CSP, CIH, QEP, CHMM).
• Sustainability & ESG experience are a plus.
• HPAPI containment and isolation equipment and practices.

Responsibilities

• With limited supervision, assist and support the Associate Director of EHS with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all EHS management systems and programs.
• Support business plan KRAs/goals and develop and monitor to ensure goals are achieved.
• Develop, implement, document, and periodically review Company training programs related to EHS.
• Develop, review, approve and implement SOPs, Work Instructions, and all other EHS documents.
• Support site management with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and assignment & tracking of CAPAs.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate and align on EHS initiatives and priorities.
• Ensure site compliance with applicable EHS regulations and company policies; prevent non-conformances.
• Ensure EHS reporting is conducted timely and accurately.
• Assist with safety evaluations and risk assessments of new products, processes, facilities, and equipment and recommend CAPAs.
• Provide technical support for EHS programs (LOTOTO, Hazcom, Respiratory Protection, Chemical Hygiene, etc.).
• Assist with annual EHS KRAs, goals, plans, and budget as directed.
• Complete environmental reporting (Tier 2, hazardous waste, air emissions, TRI, stormwater).
• Report injury/illness data to OSHA and post site reports.
• Manage EHS education and training using MasterControl.
• Conduct new hire safety orientation as needed.
• Maintain site SDSs for raw materials and chemicals per HazCom.
• Perform exposure assessments for hazardous materials and HPAPIs.
• Audit site compliance through walkthroughs (Gemba walks).
• Guide Site Safety Committee activities and initiatives.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Lab teams to ensure contractor compliance.
