Job summary

Associated Wholesale Grocers in Springfield, MO is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety leader to build and drive a prevention-focused program that supports corporate EHS goals, including crisis preparedness, food safety audits, training and corrective actions.

The role partners with Distribution management to implement strong EHS plans, track metrics, investigate incidents, coordinate internal audits, and ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, FDA/USDA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• 5+ years in environmental and safety in warehousing, manufacturing, or transportation.
• 5+ years of food safety experience in a food warehouse, manufacturing, or processing environment.
• Experience with HACCP and GMPs.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Design metrics to track progress and drive accountability.
• Oversee audits for local compliance and food safety.
• Interface with OSHA and other regulators.
• Lead EHS training and engagement programs.
