Job summary

Mission Produce is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) leader to develop and execute a comprehensive safety program across US distribution facilities, align regional EHS strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage workers’ compensation processes, lead audits, and foster a proactive safety culture while meeting global safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience creating and implementing HSE programs/policies.
• PC skills including writing technical reports.
• Disciplined record keeping and attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to lift or move 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in wet/humid conditions and near moving machinery.
• Able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Health and Safety plan across the US distribution network.
• Effectiveness will be measured by accidents, audits, and inspections.
• Assess safety risks, root causes and develop/update programs and training.
• Oversee the US workers' compensation program and accident response.
• Review and trend accidents using root cause analyses and publish KPI’s quarterly.
• Be the SME for the EHS team and support program implementation.
• Manage environmental issues including regulatory compliance and Haz Mat training.
• Create and maintain the EHS training matrix and schedule nationwide tailgates.
• Manage EHS audits and corrective actions.
• Comply with all quality and safety rules and regulations.
• Establish a positive safety culture.
