Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to lead EHS across multiple sites, ensuring workforce safety and environmental compliance. You will own EHS initiatives, collaborate with manufacturing, test sites, and offices, and drive risk-based improvements across advanced manufacturing and rocket engine testing environments.

The role requires 5+ years in EHS disciplines, strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and experience implementing hazard controls, audits, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field.
5+ years in environmental, health & safety disciplines.
5+ years maintaining water, CEQA and other state & federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Develops policies, procedures and solutions to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA).
Works across multiple sites to ensure standardization and synergy across teams and locations.
Becomes the SME for Environmental matters of Air quality, Storm Water and Hazardous Waste.
Perform EHS audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
Document job hazards and conduct risk assessments using JHAs and PPE hazard assessments.
Develops risk mitigation in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Machine Guarding, LOTO, chemical hazards).
Ensure life safety systems meet code requirements and industry best practices.
Maintain Emergency Contingency Plans and update training as needed.
Investigate incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Identify EHS training needs and coordinate with HR and Learning teams.
Monitor policies and EHS records to ensure up-to-date documentation.
