Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to lead EHS programs across sites, ensuring workforce safety and environmental compliance in advanced manufacturing and rocket testing environments.

You will develop policies, conduct audits, manage risk, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement machine guarding, LOTO, and air quality controls, while maintaining training and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in environmental, health & safety disciplines.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience maintaining compliance with water, CEQA and other state & federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies, procedures and solutions to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Works across multiple sites to ensure standardization and synergy across teams, and locations.
• Becomes the point contact and SME for all Environmental matters of Air quality, Storm Water, Hazardous Waste and Industrial Waste Water.
• Performs EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
• Documents job hazards across multiple sites using JHAs and PPE Hazard assessments to identify and characterize risk.
• Develops and executes risk mitigation solutions such as Machine Guarding, LOTO, and exposure to chemical hazards.
• Ensures life safety systems meet code requirements and industry best practices.
• Maintains Emergency Contingency Plans and training across the organization.
• Investigates industrial accidents and injuries to determine root causes and corrective actions.
