Job summary

Vast is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Sr. Specialist at our Long Beach, CA location to lead site-specific EHS programs, investigations, and complex aerospace hazard management. This role focuses on safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and program development to support the company’s Haven Station initiatives.

You will mentor EHS staff, coordinate audits, and partner with Operations to advance a proactive safety culture across manufacturing and testing activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Represent the EHS Department and collaborate with all departments to implement and uphold EHS standards.
• Oversee regulatory compliance with CAL OSHA, RCRA, EPA, SCAQMD, DOT, DTSC, and CUPA.
• Maintain chemical inventories and report to ensure CUPA compliance.
• Lead quarterly EvQ reporting and SWPPP implementation for the Long Beach facility.
• Coordinate training and audits to drive continuous EHS improvements.
• Manage hazardous waste handling and documentation under RCRA and related programs.
• Support incident investigations and provide technical context to EHS engineers.
• Develop and post Lockout/Tagout procedures and review Job Hazard Analyses.
