Amgen is seeking an EHSS Manager to lead corporate policies, guidelines, and risk management across manufacturing and operations. This role focuses on implementing Global EHSS programs, regulatory compliance, training, and continuous improvement to protect workers and communities.

The successful candidate will drive hazard analysis, safety culture, and risk control implementations, partnering with global teams to manage EHSS programs in biotech manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Masters degree plus 2 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience.
• Bachelors degree plus 4 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience.
• Associates degree plus 8 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience.
• High School Diploma / GED plus 10 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the execution of EHSS risk management ensuring effective implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.
• Implement and maintain site-level EHSS programs such as hazard communication, risk management, high-risk processes, hazardous gas and chemical management.
• Conduct site EHSS risk assessments and maintain the EHSS Risk Registers.
• Provide EHSS input to site projects, including EHSS participation in Process Hazard Analyses and design reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of risk reviews, safety data and provide periodic updates as required.
• Collaborate with Industrial Hygienist, operations and global EHSS Teams to review new products and processes.
• Investigate and implement continuous improvement processes required to improve EHSS in manufacturing operations.
• Partners with clients to implement environmental, health and safety policies, practices, and requirements identified as part of risk assessments.
• Develop and manage digital systems used for tracking risk assessments.
