Job summary

Amgen in North Carolina is seeking an EHSS Manager to lead risk management across our new FleX Batch facility. You will develop and implement global EHSS programs, advise on hazard communication, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, risk-based decision making, and expertise in PHAs, hazard controls, and environmental health and safety policy development. Flexible work models are available where possible.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s Degree and 2 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
• Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
• Associate’s Degree and 8 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
• High School Diploma / GED and 10 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience

Responsibilities

• Own and drive EHSS risk management ensuring effective implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.
• Implement and maintain site-level EHSS programs such as hazard communication, risk management, high-risk processes, hazardous gas and chemical management.
• Conduct site EHSS risk assessments and maintain the EHSS Risk Registers.
• Provide EHSS input to site projects, including EHSS involvement in Process Hazard Analyses and design reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of risk reviews and safety data.
• Collaborate with Industrial Hygienist and global EHSS Teams to review new products and processes.
• Investigate and implement continuous improvement processes to improve EHSS in manufacturing operations.
• Develop and manage digital systems used for tracking risk assessments.
