Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Leader for a major construction project (~$1B+). You will set the EH&S direction, lead the project-wide safety program, and mentor on-site teams to achieve a best-in-class safety culture.

You will collaborate with senior leadership, clients, trade partners, and JV partners to implement plans, track KPIs, and drive continuous safety improvements. Travel to various project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field and minimum of 13 years of related construction safety experience, or equivalent combo
• CHST certification required or within 6 months of appointment
• OSHA 30-hour training and First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certification
• Expert knowledge of safety and environmental principles and regulations
• Experience in incident management and response
• Management experience with budget and resources
• Supervisory/leadership skills and mentoring
• Travel required and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce EH&S policies and practices on a large/ high-risk project (~$1B+).
• Set EH&S direction with project senior leadership; communicate vision to project team.
• Model Turner’s EH&S policies and lead improvement to safety culture.
• Oversee on-site EH&S, mentor front-line workers, and coach project team.
• Collaborate with client, trade partners, and JV partners to ensure safety program success.
• Develop project-specific EH&S plan with KPIs and PDCA cycles; monitor execution.
• Participate in recruitment/onboarding and succession planning for EH&S staffing
• Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions; authorize changes to protect safety.
• Manage EH&S budget and resources; lead training across project levels
