Job summary

Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence team is seeking an experienced engineer to design and build hardware and software test assets for the Lunar Lander, including simulations and emulators, to enable integration, verification, and validation of flight software.

As part of a rigorous, safety-focused culture, you will collaborate across disciplines, apply your software and hardware expertise, and help ensure reliable test equipment and tooling for mission-critical testing.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with bench measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment.
• Experience with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Docker, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Proficiency with higher‑level programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
• Strong software development skills and debugging.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and code automated test equipment software to support formal and informal verification of avionics requirements (qualification and acceptance testing).
• Participate in the requirements, design, and architecture.
• Develop software for various prototype objectives.
• Integrate software models, sensor drivers, and hardware emulators.
• Support the integration of flight avionics, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of the flight software.
• Support problem investigation and resolution.
• Establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software is reliable, released and configuration managed.
