Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a Senior Educational Technician (Child Development) at Offutt Air Force Base to lead age-appropriate programming for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. You will coach classroom staff, ensure inclusive practices, and maintain a safe learning environment.

You will partner with the Inclusion Action Team to accommodate diverse needs, while guiding activities and sustaining curriculum quality across the center. This is a frontline instructional leadership role.

The Senior Educational Technician (Child Development) serves as an instructional lead and operational coordinator delivering age‑appropriate developmental care and curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years while providing vital technical coaching and mentorship to lower‑graded classroom staff. In this multifaceted role, you will lead classroom activities, partner with the Inclusion Action Team to accommodate children with specialized needs, and serve as a facility safety monitor conducting essential daily health and fire inspections.

Salary Range is $50,964 - $66,255 based on experience.

Requirements For This Position

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)

• Comprehensive Child Development Knowledge: In-depth understanding of child development requirements, policies, procedures, and early childhood guidance practices, techniques, and regulatory programs (including AF, DoD, and NAEYC standards).
• Developmental & Nutritional Stages: Thorough knowledge of the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and nutritional stages of young children (6 weeks to 5 years), with the skill to translate theory into center programming.
• Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate factual, procedural, and developmental information clearly and tactfully, both orally and in writing, to parents, staff, and leadership.
• Curriculum Adaptation & Inclusion: Proven skill in tailoring and adapting planned educational activities to accommodate individual skill levels and children with specialized developmental or medical needs.
• Safety, Hygiene, & Space Management: Ability to maintain rigorous safety, hygiene, and health standards through constant child supervision, space arrangement, and proper equipment management.
• Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze operational or classroom challenges, identify contributing factors, gather relevant facts, and implement sound, effective solutions.
• Team Leadership & Interpersonal Relations: Demonstrated skill in guiding, training, and mentoring subordinate staff while fostering collaborative, positive working relationships across diverse teams.
