Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service at Offutt AFB seeks an Educational Technician (Child Development) to guide and nurture children from six months to five years old, creating creative learning adventures through music, art, and play.

You will design individualized activity plans, observe development, collaborate with military families, and support a safe, inclusive classroom that fosters growth and curiosity in every child.

Job description

As an Educational Technician (Child Development) (GS-1702-05) for Offutt AFB’s Child Development Center, you will step into a classroom of endless possibilities, guiding and nurturing children from six months to five years old. This isn't just a childcare job; it’s a vital mission where you will design creative learning adventures, through music, art, and play, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where every child can flourish. If you are ready to mentor emerging educators, partner closely with military families, and build a foundational legacy of care, this role allows you to make a profound and lasting impact.

The position is responsible for providing appropriate, specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center (CDC); performing basic oversight and supervision for a designated classroom; designing and executing stimulating, individualized activity plans; conducting health and developmental observations; and implementing specialized programs for children with diverse needs.

Salary Range is $41,143 - $53,486 based on experience.

  • Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with others and to communicate effective, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to ensure the safety and hygiene of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper management of equipment.
