Job summary

DEFTEC seeks a Senior Contractor Support to Analyze Emerging and Disruptive Technologies in Norfolk, VA. You will identify and catalogue EDTs, assess implications, and promote real-world experimentation within the Warfare Development Agenda, coordinating with ACT and NATO stakeholders.

You will educate HQ SACT staff on EDT opportunities and risks, organize EDT knowledge bases, and contribute to NDPP steps and joint force development activities. This role requires active security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, ICT or closely related discipline and 4 years post-related experience; lack of degree may be offset by demonstrated abilities or experience (at least 6 years).
• Active NATO Secret Security Clearance.
• Two years' experience in acquisition, assembly and interpretation of research & technology information.
• Knowledge of S&T information sources in defense contexts (labs, academia, ministries).
• Experience interpreting future S&T and EDT-related information for military applications.
• Proficient with PC office automation and internet research.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to identification and cataloguing of new and existing EDTs.
• Support sustained assessment of EDT implications and adoption opportunities for the Warfare Development Agenda.
• Promote increased experimentation of EDT-based solutions in realistic environments.
• Provide input to programming of EDT activities within ACT S&T POW supporting foresight, NDPP, multinational solutions, capability development, training and education.
• Influence and exploit EDTs to address capability shortfalls and impact on available capabilities.
• Produce EDTs advice informing strategic foresight analysis, NATO planning, and capability development efforts including AoA.
