Linklaters in Washington, DC area seeks a US-qualified lawyer with at least ten years post-qualification experience to lead eDiscovery strategy, collaborate with the team, and sign off on privilege, disclosure, and production workflows.

The role requires deep familiarity with eDiscovery lifecycle, analytics, and cross-border investigations, including Relativity and similar tools. Compensation aligns with market levels for senior eDiscovery counsel.

Qualifications

• US-qualified lawyer with a minimum of ten years post-qualification experience.
• Experience advising on eDiscovery, reviews, productions and investigations.
• Extensive experience using leading eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide US-qualified legal advice and sign-off on privilege, disclosure obligations and legal risk within eDiscovery strategy for litigation matters, investigations, and regulatory cases.
• Coordinate with the eDiscovery team to integrate legal input into strategy and vendor-management functions.
• Support planning and execution of document preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis and production workflows.
• Provide legal sign-off that review and production strategies are proportionate, cost-effective and compliant.
• Liaise with partners, clients, vendors, forensic specialists and review teams to coordinate reviews and productions.
• Provide legal review and sign-off on document review and production protocols and training.
• Advise on legal defensibility of review tools and technology-assisted review.
• Assist matter teams with review planning, trainee training, escalation routes, quality control and consistency checks.
• Prepare matter updates, status reports and metrics for internal teams and clients.
• Advise on legal and regulatory compliance in external provider and client relationships managed by the eDiscovery team.
• Provide input into internal playbooks, templates and training on eDiscovery processes.
• Monitor developments in eDiscovery and share practical insights with teams.
