Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) for a 100% remote role. The ideal candidate has extensive Edifecs experience, strong EDI/X12 knowledge, and experience with AWS cloud environments, AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows to support government or VA-related partnerships.

Required are 8+ years in EDI/Edifecs, HIPAA familiarity, and a Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering. The position requires U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Edifecs product experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise application operations.
• 8+ years of EDI/HIPAA experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA).
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams.
• Work with integration specialists on AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows.
