Job summary

Outpost.red is hiring a Senior Edge Systems Engineer to own the architecture of kiosks and on-site technology across our growing footprint. You will lead end-to-end design, validate components, and drive reliability in real-world deployments at gates and yards.

In this role, you will manage edge compute standards, hardware selection, and remote management strategies, partnering with Linux, security, and field operations teams to deliver scalable, maintenance-friendly systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware systems, embedded systems, edge infrastructure, or similar engineering role.
• Experience as technical owner for integrated hardware platform or distributed site architecture.
• Hands-on with Ubuntu-based edge systems and NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting industrial computers, embedded PCs, single-board computers, or GPU-enabled edge systems.
• Strong understanding of power supplies, PoE, power distribution, backup power, and remote power management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end edge systems architecture for kiosks and site technology.
• Develop reference designs and standards for edge compute, networking, power, displays, cameras, and peripherals.
• Evaluate hardware platforms, components, vendors, and deployment approaches.
• Design reliable power and recovery systems including backup power and out-of-band access.
• Define provisioning, monitoring, patching, asset inventory, and remote recovery for distributed systems.
• Build and test prototypes and design revisions before broader deployment.
