Job summary

Allina Health seeks an Emergency Department Medical Technician to provide rapid patient care under RN supervision. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, splinting, specimen collection, and education on durable medical equipment in high-pressure ED settings.

The successful candidate will work a 60-hour two-week period across 8- and 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, with every third weekend rotation, and must meet licensure requirements and BLS standards per union guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; i-STAT testing familiarity preferred.
• EMT/MDH/NREMT certification or CNA licensure required per hire terms.
• Current BLS from AHA or Red Cross or in-house BLS training required.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide patient care under RN direction, including phlebotomy, EKG, wound care and equipment fitting.
• Support procedures, immobilization, dressings, oxygen, and patient transport as needed.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges and participate in quality improvement.
• Maintain supplies, process orders, and provide clerical support as required.
