Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an Emergency Department Medical Technician in Fridley, MN to provide rapid patient care under RN supervision. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, splinting and specimen collection, with education on and fitting of durable medical equipment.

Primary duties include assisting with procedures, oxygen therapy, and patient transfers. The position supports quality improvement activities and requires an 18+ year old candidate with a high school diploma or equivalent,

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with education/experience to meet competency requirements.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent for positions using i-STAT testing.
• Preferred: 1+ year in acute healthcare and 1+ year in EKG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care under RN direction, including phlebotomy, EKG and wound care.
• Assist with splints, specimen collection, dressings and education on durable medical equipment.
• Support procedures, oxygen therapy, irrigation, restraint, transfers and backboard placement.
• Contribute to quality improvement and adherence to safety policies.
