Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nurses and physicians in the ED. You will assist with diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and maintaining patient safety for acutely ill and unstable patients.

The role requires interaction with a fast-paced trauma and medical emergency environment. Responsibilities include resuscitation support, venipuncture, vital signs monitoring, EKGs, wound care, and assisting with patient transport.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year ED Technician and/or EMS experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients and staff.
• Able to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks; capable of lifting and positioning patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with resuscitation and CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Perform venipuncture to obtain blood specimens.
• Provide technical support for patient care to nurses and physicians.
• Report patient condition to supervisor/staff.
• Assist with transporting patients to other departments.
