Job summary
Samsung C&T Renewables America seeks an experienced transmission planning engineer to analyze and model production costs for utility-scale solar and storage projects. You will work with ISOs/RTOs across North America, coordinating with Commercial and Engineering teams to gather data and deliver interconnection studies.
The role requires a strong background in PROMOD/PAT, regulatory liaison skills, and experience supporting projects from inception through development and engineering.Houston-based
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- Three (3) years of transmission and interconnection planning experience on renewable projects.
- Experience with PROMOD and PAT tools for production cost simulations.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic pace and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience communicating with utilities, ISO/RTOs, and regulators.
Responsibilities
- Lead and complete economic studies (LMP, basis and curtailment, congestion and revenue forecast) for multiple ISOs/RTOs using PROMOD.
- Support engineers to perform production cost simulations and assess grid capacity for renewable developments.
- Lead due diligence for M&A projects by reviewing interconnection documents and briefing teams on findings.
- Provide technical support and coordination to Engineering and Project Directors throughout development and engineering.
