Job summary

Grid United in Houston, TX seeks a Transmission & Interconnection Manager to lead planning studies, model development, and interconnection activity for greenfield projects. You will coordinate with ISO/RTO staff, utilities, and consultants to evaluate feasibility, strategy, and cost-effective mitigations.

You will mentor engineers, manage studies, and drive successful interconnection outcomes, while ensuring timely deliverables and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, or transmission service.
• Hands-on proficiency with grid analytics tools (PSS/E/PSLF/PowerWorld).
• Familiarity with ISO/RTO tariffs across multiple regions (MISO, SPP, PJM, ERCOT).
• Strong communication and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal transmission planning studies (power flow, contingencies, short circuit, voltage/reactive analyses).
• Develop and maintain study cases and models across the portfolio.
• Prepare interconnection filings, study agreements, and manage the interconnection queue.
• Mentor Transmission & Interconnection Engineers and review study deliverables.
• Represent Grid United in negotiations and stakeholder meetings.
