Job summary

Exus Renewables North America is seeking a Director of Transmission and Interconnection to lead the technical execution and portfolio strategy for utility-scale renewables across North America. You will oversee interconnection studies, single-line diagrams, and modeling while advising senior leadership on development risks and capital allocation.

The role requires a strong background in transmission planning, modeling, and coordinating with ISOs/RTOs, utilities, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, power system engineering, or related roles.
• Experience with major ISOs/RTOs: PJM, MISO, SPP, WECC, ISO-NE.
• Direct experience managing utility-scale generation projects through the interconnection process from submission to commercial operation.
• Experience with transmission planning, power system modeling, and interconnection studies.
• Experience supporting project development, acquisitions, investment decisions, or portfolio strategy.
• Experience working as a player/coach.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission strategy and pipeline development for North American projects.
• Direct interconnection studies (feasibility, system impact, facility, restudy) and milestone trackers.
• Interface with ISOs/RTOs, utilities, transmission owners, and consultants to drive outcomes.
• Prepare, review, and submit interconnection requests, one-line diagrams, modeling data, and exhibits.
• Oversee QA/QC of studies, modeling assumptions, and consultant work products.
• Manage transmission planning consultants, engineering firms, and service providers.
• Monitor regulatory developments (FERC, NERC, RTOs) and support policy changes.
• Collaborate with Development, Finance, Commercial, EPC, and Asset Management teams.
• Contribute technical insights to M&A evaluations and Investment Committee materials.
