Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Ecological Risk Assessor to join our Federal Environmental Team with the option to work from multiple offices, including Morristown, NJ. The role involves coordinating multimedia risk assessments and ensuring regulatory compliance for industrial, commercial, and government projects.

You will lead technical assignments, author proposals, and interact with clients and regulators to scope assessments and inform site decisions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Toxicology, Biology, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in conducting, authoring, directing, and performing technical review of multi-media ecological risk assessments.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of ecological risk assessment principles, procedures, and guidance particularly USEPA CERCLA.
• Demonstrated successful interactions across a range of private sector and governmental clients.
• Experience with scoping, managing, and conducting ecological risk assessment components for CERCLA processes.
• Experience with risk communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise technical assignments and manages entire projects or specific elements of projects.
• Perform as lead ecological risk assessor authoring proposals and projects.
• Extensive client and regulator interaction, particularly with scoping of ecological risk assessments and application of the risk assessment results and conclusions in site decision-making.
• Provide technical review for projects to comply with environmental regulations, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Occasionally travel for projects, conferences, business development, or training.
