Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Senior Echocardiographer to perform and analyze advanced echocardiographic studies across transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress protocols. You will mentor staff, coordinate schedules, and contribute to quality initiatives in a high-volume cardiac program.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and adherence to safety and ethical standards while maintaining up-to-date echocardiography techniques and equipment knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines (required).
• Associate Level Degree (required).
• Must have at least one of the following certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze advanced echocardiographic procedures (transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echocardiography).
• Mentor junior staff and provide leadership across shifts and labs.
• Collaborate with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic information and participate in quality improvement.
