Job summary

PURE Insurance in Roswell, NM is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to profitably grow a book of business by partnering with brokers and coordinating with colleagues across the org. You will plan and budget for the book, develop broker relationships, and execute underwriting decisions, including handling large, complex accounts.

You will underwrite renewals and new business, support junior underwriters, and drive profitability with strong decision making and market insight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of high net worth underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external business partners; including brokers.
• Experience developing and executing marketing plans and prospects.
• Adaptability in a changing business environment.
• Sound, balanced and timely decision making.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business software.
• Current P&C and E&S broker licenses preferred; must obtain within 45 and 60 days if not possessed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and budget for the book of business and report performance.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships; set strategies and goals for brokers.
• Underwrite new and renewal business in line with policy and guidelines.
• Provide referral support to junior underwriters and contribute to their development.
• Manage profitability and growth of the book with effective strategies.
