Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an engineer to support Durability CIPT teams addressing hardware environmental exposure. You will collaborate across disciplines to define inputs/outputs for the Durability Design System and contribute to future model roadmaps for engine components.

You will develop and validate predictive tools, plan tests with data acquisition, and benchmark best practices against academia and industry. This onsite role is based in East Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 5 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Support various Durability CIPT product teams in addressing business critical challenges related to hardware environmental exposure.
• Collaborate across disciplines and with HSE Methods team to environmental exposure tool sets requirement, inputs and outputs in alignment with the vision for Durability Design System.
• Contribute to define road-map for future models for environmental interaction with engine components.
• Identify gaps in existing environmental exposure predictive tools and collaborate with data acquisition teams to define test plans to bridge the gaps.
• Develop standard best practice for utilization and interpretation of CFD-based particle tracking models to evaluate hot section components.
• Develop, manage, validate and calibrate predictive models of environmental exposure interactions with engine components.
