Job summary

CTS Technology Solutions, Inc. in El Segundo, CA seeks a Lead or Senior DSP Systems Engineer to design space-based communication systems for national security programs. You will join a motivated team working with domestic and international customers on satellite systems.

Responsibilities span from requirements definition to unit development and testing, including ASIC/FPGA verification and system-level trade studies. US citizenship and Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• This position requires ability to obtain a US Security Clearance; US citizenship is a condition of employment.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering tech, physics, math, data science or CS is required.
• 1+ year of experience with signal processing or image processing.
• 5+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in signal processing or algorithm development; Simulink, Python or C++ experience.
• Demonstrated involvement in group projects and trade studies; 9+ years of related experience (or higher with advanced degrees).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
• Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
• Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for communication digital payloads.
• Develop performance and link budgets.
• Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
• Assist with conducting trade studies.
• Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like testbeds.
• Support unit-level integration and simulations.
• Support ASIC and FPGA level design and verification.
• Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
