Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an Engineering Specialist to design and prototype advanced signal processing and AI/ML algorithms for space applications. You will develop, test, and demonstrate solutions for DoD, intelligence, and civil customers, guiding external partners and internal stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a strong Linux, Python, C++, or Matlab background and can obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
• Minimum of eight years of related experience with a combination of modern communication system engineering, digital signal processing, or AI/ML comm expertise
• Experience with developing within a Linux environment
• Strong coding experience in Python, C++, or Matlab
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
• Minimum of twelve years of experience for Senior Engineering Specialist
• Proven technical leadership skills with project leadership from concept to execution or government-facing business development
• Mentorship of junior staff

Responsibilities

• Build a wide variety of prototypes for: Classic signal processing, AI/ML signal processing
• Develop, model, and test algorithms for real and simulated data
• Deliver tech demos and briefings to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Provide technical guidance and insight to external customers
• Develop the department’s business network with the customer program office
