Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Senior Deterministic Safety Analysis Engineer to contribute to BWRX-300 LOCA and containment analyses, applying TRACG/GOTHIC models and issuing technical reports for licensing. You will lead evaluations, advise on LOCA/containment behavior, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high‑quality analyses.

The role includes customer-facing activities, training, and opportunities to advance automation and methods, with remote work option and relocation support.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Physics or similar).
• 8+ years of relevant nuclear experience with at least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in thermal‑hydraulic safety analysis (direct experience with LOCA and/or containment analysis is strongly preferred)
• M.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Physics or similar).
• 6+ years of relevant nuclear experience with at least 3+ years of demonstrated experience in thermal‑hydraulic safety analysis (direct experience with LOCA and/or containment analysis is strongly preferred).
• PHD in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Physics or similar).
• 4+ years of relevant nuclear experience with at least 1+ years of demonstrated experience in thermal‑hydraulic safety analysis (direct experience with LOCA and/or containment analysis is strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for BWRX‑300 LOCA and Containment behavior, leading development, maintenance, and application of DSA methods and results that implement key topical reports.
• Perform plant thermal‑hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of LOCA, HELB, Containment pressure/temperature and sub‑compartment response, PCCS and ICS performance, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses.
• Develop, document, and apply TRACG‑based evaluation models for LOCA mass‑and‑energy release and fuel acceptance criteria, and GOTHIC‑based models for containment response, including CN‑DSA and EX‑DSA applications.
• Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations, including regulatory submittals and RAIs.
• Perform technical verification of engineering deliverables and present complex issues to regulators, utilities, and partners.
