Job summary

GE Vernova in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced engineer to perform plant thermal-hydraulic safety analyses using two-phase TH techniques for BWRs and related designs. You will support reload design applications, uprates, and safety analysis across existing and new reactor concepts, interfacing with design, licensing, and systems teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline and 3+ years in TH analysis; MS in Nuclear Engineering is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years experience performing Thermal Hydraulic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations in ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses.
• General expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.
• Lead fuel project activities including reload analyses, methods implementation, power uprates, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, core design, licensing, systems design teams to deliver optimum customer solutions.
• Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers.
• Provide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management.
