Job summary

NuScale Power is seeking a senior radiological engineer to specialize in radiological and nuclear analyses with a focus on licensing and defense of PWR/BWR systems.

The role requires a self-motivated professional with extensive experience in remote work platforms and the ability to obtain US export‑controlled software through RSIC. This is a 40‑hour/week contract through June 2027, eligible for remote work within the contiguous United States.

Qualifications

  • Education: A B.S. in nuclear engineering or radiological health physics from an ABET-accredited program is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years in nuclear/radiological engineering or health physics; 2–3 years in PWR/BWR license development and defense.
  • Industry: Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses using industry-standard tools with minimal supervision.
  • Develop resolutions to complex problems requiring creativity and innovation.
  • Plan and perform innovative and complex engineering assignments for licensing projects.
  • Interact with management and senior customers across organizational lines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and represent the organization as the principal customer contact.
