Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced estimator to lead self-perform drywall and related trades estimating on large projects in Pittsburgh, PA. You will develop budgets, perform quantity take-offs, value engineering, and GMP preparation in collaboration with SPO and Preconstruction teams.

The role requires at least 6 years of estimating experience, a relevant degree, and strong communication and MS Office skills. BIM and estimating software proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of detailed estimating experience for drywall and related trades.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision, or purchasing.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, schedules.
• Strong knowledge of estimating documents and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient in MS Office and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Perform estimating activities for SPO drywall scopes and collaboration with SPO Drywall/Preconstruction managers.
• Prepare detailed estimates with quantity take-offs, inputs, and studies.
• Develop conceptual and schematic estimates to establish project budgets.
• Identify scope, risks, and design issues; provide solutions with Preconstruction.
• Develop labor productivity rates and maintain vendor pricing relationships.
• Use BIM for quantity take-off and visualization to support estimate prep.
• Prepare trade bid forms, evaluate input, and coordinate with trades.
• Contribute to GMP/GC/GRs study and ensure pricing accuracy for owner delivery.
