Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, Virginia, is seeking a Sr Dry Etch Equipment Engineer to drive reliability and long-term corrective actions for Dry Etch toolsets in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.

You will lead root-cause analysis, implement long-term fixes, and partner with Production, Process Engineering, and suppliers to support yield, cycle time, and cost‑reduction goals while mentoring technicians and engineers early in their careers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience with strong analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to solve complex equipment issues using structured methodologies (SPC, FMEA, 5-Whys, 8D, fault isolation).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work multi-functionally and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed, root-cause-focused fixing to eliminate chronic failures and improve Dry Etch reliability.
• Analyze tool data, identify trends and reliability risks, and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Manage tool recovery strategies with accurate ETAs and coordinate with Production to minimize downtime.
• Own spare parts strategy, BOM accuracy, consumable health, and cost-reduction efforts related to repairs.
