Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Coding Operations Leader to oversee Optum360 Coding Departments across the region. This role drives quality metrics, workflow standardization, and audits to exceed SLAs and client expectations.

You will collaborate with HIM, CDI, and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy, while maintaining strong client relationships and leading remote teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding experience and/or certification.
• 4+ years in a corporate coding leadership role supervising large multi-site teams.
• 4+ years DRG or inpatient coding experience.
• 4+ years partnering with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Optum360 Coding Departments within the assigned region.
• Lead initiatives on quality metrics, workflow improvement, and audits.
• Drive standardization of processes to meet SLAs and client needs.
• Manage prebill reviews and prebill quality reviews with HIM/CDI teams.
• Lead client meetings with Quality Teams and CDI against accounts.
• Monitor performance trends and implement corrective actions.
• Foster relationships with clients and promote engagement across units.
