This remote role accepts applicants from anywhere in the U.S. The position requires ICD-10-CM/PCS expertise and 4+ years of leadership in corporate coding, plus DRG/inpatient and CAC/EMR experience.

Qualifications

• ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding experience and/or certification.
• 4+ years as a subject matter expert in a corporate coding leadership role supporting large multi-site healthcare organizations.
• 4+ years of recent DRG or inpatient coding experience.
• 4+ years of experience partnering with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.
• 4+ years of experience with computer-assisted coding technologies and EMR coding workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintains expert knowledge of coding operations and best practices; drives standardization across facilities.
• Leads system/process standardization, metrics development, and communication for coding operations.
• Ensures integration of coding functions in the facilities served.
• Uses standard processes to reduce waste and improve SLAs and KPIs.
• Monitors day-to-day coding operations and performs prebill and prebill quality reviews.
• Supports leadership in quality/improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
• Maintains high accuracy and proficiency to meet targets.
• Leads QA/compliance activities and remediation plans as needed.
• Fosters client relations and collaboration with HIM, CDI, and Coding Operations.
• Drives staff engagement and educational initiatives for coding topics.
