Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Technical Manager, Drainage and Stormwater, to lead the delivery of drainage design projects in the Mid-Atlantic. You will manage cross-functional teams, perform professional civil engineering tasks, and mentor staff while engaging with regulatory agencies and clients to secure permits.

You’ll leverage OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HEC-RAS to develop sustainable, compliant solutions for flood control and stormwater management in VA and nearby regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license required; Virginia, Maryland and/or DC licenses preferred.
• 10+ years in A/E/C with client-facing water resources background.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design, stormwater management, and H&H modeling across multiple projects.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design and project delivery.
• Review and approve design plans ensuring compliance with codes and data integrity.
• Mentor junior staff in advanced drainage design and Virginia/local requirements.
• Manage budgets, hours, and task completion across cross-functional teams.
• Engage with regulators and clients, facilitating permitting and coordination.
