Job summary

GES is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, modernize, and sustain enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure in a DoD setting. The role covers Cisco routing, switching, and Palo Alto security in Fort Belvoir, VA or Albuquerque, NM, with TS/SCI eligibility and Top Secret potential.

You will work independently and with multidisciplinary teams to deploy secure, scalable networks supporting classified operations and mission-critical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or equivalent).
• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, NAT, QoS, and RMF/ STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN and WAN infrastructure.
• Engineer and support Cisco routing and switching environments for mission-critical networks.
• Configure and optimize enterprise routing and switching technologies (OSPF, BGP, STP, HSRP/VRRP).
• Support WAN connectivity via MPLS, VPN, and Internet transport.
• Configure Palo Alto firewalls and GlobalProtect remote access and site-to-site VPNs.
• Monitor network health and perform advanced troubleshooting from L1 to L7.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, SOPs, and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure DoD RMF and STIG compliance.
