Job summary

Akamai is seeking an experienced Major Account Executive to oversee renewals for DoD contracts across the Navy, Marine Corps, and related agencies. You will manage renewals, forecast timelines, and drive upsell opportunities, acting as the primary commercial contact through the contract lifecycle.

You will collaborate with account teams, technical managers, and product teams to maximize value and maintain strong relationships with program managers and CIO staff.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise technology sales or account management.
• 5+ years managing DoD clients, with Navy/Marine Corps familiarity.
• Strong understanding of DoD contracting and budgeting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Manage renewals for existing DoD customers across specified agencies.
• Forecast renewal timelines and align with budgets to ensure continuity.
• Upsell and cross-sell to expand service adoption.
• Lead quarterly business reviews and monitor customer health.
• Collaborate with Technical Account Managers and Sales Engineers to maximize value.
• Maintain up-to-date account plans, renewal forecasts, and Salesforce pipeline.
