Job summary

PD Power Systems seeks a Purchasing Specialist to join its corporate staff in Springfield, VA. The role focuses on policy development, procurement leadership, and ensuring compliance with cost accounting requirements.

The ideal candidate has DoD experience and strong MS Word/Excel skills, with the ability to manage domestic and international freight and support contract files. Travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in a related field required (experience may be traded for education).
• Minimum of 3 years of Government contracting/subcontracting work or purchasing experience.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and cost accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain purchasing policy for the company.
• Lead company-wide procurement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing and cost accounting requirements.
• Review requisitions to ensure best value trade-offs.
• Where needed, obtain additional product quotes.
• Maintain company's purchasing process and Quality Management System documents to ensure continued ISO certification.
• Support project accounting functions for maintenance of contract and subcontract files.
• Close out completed POs.
• Manage domestic and international freight shipments.
• Travel: Minimal to none.
