Job summary

Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. in San Francisco seeks a Docketing Supervisor to lead the firm’s litigation docketing activities and oversee daily operations of the docketing department.

You will ensure accurate entry of docketing information, respond to attorney inquiries, and drive process improvements to raise efficiency and service levels. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with IT and vendors, generating reports, and staying current on court rules.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on docketing procedures and lead litigation docketing activities.
• Manage daily operations of the docketing department; set performance expectations and measurements.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of all docketing information into the docketing system.
• Respond to questions from attorneys and staff regarding procedural aspects of docketing nationwide.
• Conduct regular audits of the docketing system for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and implement docketing procedures and best practices; drive process improvements.
• Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to update docketing standards.
• Stay updated on court rules and procedures; summarize and communicate with docketing and legal teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with technology and services vendors.
• Serve as escalation point for the team; liaise with IT and outside vendors on docketing matters and processes.
• Train and supervise docketing staff; provide guidance and support.
• Generate reports and provide updates on docketing activities and compliance.
• Manage large projects and carry them through to completion with minimal direction.
• Use excellent verbal and written communication; maintain professional conduct.
• Keep supervisor informed of issues and potential problems.
