Job summary

Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. seeks a Docketing Specialist to support multi-jurisdictional litigation calendaring.

You will manage deadlines across federal, state, and local rules within the firm’s docketing software, BEC or similar systems, and generate schedules and reports for litigation teams. You will work independently to identify anomalies, conduct research to resolve issues, and document docketing procedures while collaborating with Client Services and Legal Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Understanding of federal, state, and local rules and practices across multiple practice areas.
• Strong data management skills.
• Ability to review documents for dates and enter deadlines accurately.
• Proficiency with docketing software and report generation.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documents for relevant dates and enters deadlines into the docketing system.
• Creates, reviews and distributes calendar and case reports.
• Responds to requests from team members regarding docketed events and rules.
• Works independently to identify docketing anomalies and resolves them through research.
• Assists in investigating docket issues and implements solutions for future issues.
• Maintains documentation for docketing processes and guidelines.
• Provides back-up support to colleagues in Client Services and Legal Operations.
• Keeps up-to-date with best practices and system considerations to improve efficiency.
