Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a seasoned backend engineer to advance our Public Cloud platform. You will design and ship distributed systems, build microservices, and automate infrastructure across data centers using Kubernetes and cloud tools.

The role demands deep Linux expertise, Python proficiency, and a strong grasp of concurrency. You’ll contribute to on-call rotations and work in an environment that values reliability, scale, and security.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years backend software development with Python.
• Deep Linux systems administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Proven experience with public cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms and concurrency.
• Experience building and operating large distributed systems.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms.
• Design, develop, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Write and maintain microservices on container platforms.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and automate DNS/infrastructure management.
• Address live-site issues, drive improvements in availability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and balance feature delivery with debt retirement.
• Collaborate with teams using open source tech and agile practices.
