Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an experienced backend engineer to help build and operate a large-scale distributed platform. You will craft highly available core backend systems, write microservices, and drive infrastructure automation across public clouds.

You’ll work with Python, Linux, containers, and modern CI/CD tools to deliver resilient services at scale while collaborating across teams and sharing knowledge to continuously improve security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development with Python in cloud environments.
• Strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, and cloud-architecture skills.
• Proficiency in Python, OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
• Experience with public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure) and cloud-scale provisioning/migration.
• Familiarity with IaC and automation tooling for DNS and infra management.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with infrastructure tooling (Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, TLS, TCP/IP, HTTP).

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public clouds.
• Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Use and contribute to open source technology.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and writing microservices on container platforms.
• Resolve complex technical issues to improve availability, resilience, and performance.
• Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
• Participate in on-call rotations to keep services operational and highly available.
