Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Backend/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, develop, and operate distributed systems at scale. You will craft infrastructure-as-code, write microservices, and maintain resilient platforms across multiple data centers while contributing to open source tooling and cloud-native workflows.

The role requires 5+ years of Python backend experience, strong Linux skills, and hands-on cloud architecture knowledge across GCP/AWS/Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience with Python and cloud architecture.
• Hands-on Linux systems administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms and concurrency.
• Public cloud engineering experience on GCP, AWS or Azure, including provisioning and migration at scale.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos).
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Puppet, Spinnaker, git).
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins / Travis CI.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability platforms (Grafana).
• Familiarity with Agile and Test Driven Development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks and validation platforms.
• Design, develop and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Write microservices and develop Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Contribute to open source technologies and leverage cloud-native tooling.
• Resolve complex issues to improve availability, resilience and performance.
• Balance live-site work with feature delivery and debt reduction.
• Participate in on-call rotation to address incidents.
