Job summary

Synchrony seeks an AVP, Data Loss Prevention Engineer to drive an enterprise-wide DLP program, defining data loss prevention strategy and roadmap. You’ll collaborate with cyber security teams and business stakeholders to implement robust policies and controls that reduce data exfiltration risk.

You will lead development of DLP policies, metrics, and governance while ensuring alignment with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Security, Engineering, Application Development, or related field; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data loss prevention role.
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build effective DLP policies and rules to protect and safeguard the organization’s data.
• Support the Data Protection product owner defining the intent, roadmap, and strategy for execution and delivery of the DLP roadmap.
• Support development and management of Data Loss Prevention metrics.
• Stay current with emerging threat landscape and develop/enhance capabilities to safeguard the business from data exfiltration.
• Act as subject matter expert to assist with DLP problems, especially related to Data Protection security service.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment of sensitive data for DLP capabilities.
• Serve as a DLP expert and central point of contact for IT and business stakeholders.
• Assist with development of standards, best practices, and guidelines for policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure capabilities comply with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
