Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an AVP, Data Loss Prevention Engineer to lead an enterprise‑wide DLP program. You will design and implement DLP policies, collaborate with Information Security and business stakeholders, and drive strategy to reduce data exfiltration risk.

The role requires experience in data loss prevention and strong governance across PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, and applicable data‑security standards. You will mentor teams, influence technology choices, and shape the DLP roadmap while ensuring

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in information security, engineering, or related field OR 7+ years of equivalent work experience with a HS diploma.
5+ years of experience in a data loss prevention role.

Responsibilities

Design and build effective DLP policies and rules to protect data.
Support the data protection product owner with roadmap and strategy for DLP.
Develop and manage DLP metrics and reporting.
Stay current with threats and enhance capabilities to prevent data exfiltration.
Serve as SME for data loss prevention across IT and business.
Partner with stakeholders to align sensitive data protection efforts.
Act as trusted advisor for DLP within the organization.
Develop standards and guidelines for policies and procedures.
