Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an AVP Data Loss Prevention Engineer to lead an enterprise-wide DLP program. You will develop and modify DLP policies, collaborate with cyber security teams and business stakeholders, and drive the data loss prevention strategy and roadmap to reduce data exfiltration risk.

You will design policies, build metrics, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS and HIPAA while aligning with security service goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Information Security or related field OR 7 years equivalent with HS diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data loss prevention role.
• Travel flexibility for business as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build effective DLP policies and rules.
• Support the Data Protection roadmap and strategy.
• Develop and manage DLP metrics.
• Stay current with emerging threat landscape and enhance capabilities.
• Act as a subject matter expert for DLP issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to protect sensitive data.
• Serve as a DLP expert and trusted advisor for IT and business.
• Develop standards, best practices, and guidelines for policies.
