Job summary

Chord Energy is seeking a Sr. Division Order Analyst based in downtown Houston, with hybrid work options (home Mondays and Fridays).

You will oversee title matters, determine ownership for production proceeds, and maintain accurate division of interest data in Enertia Land System. The role involves analyzing title opinions, contracts, leases, and related documents to ensure accurate ownership and timely royalty payments, while coordinating with Land and Accounting teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate record title ownership divisions of interest for billing and revenue in the Enertia Land System.
  • Ensure timely payment of royalties according to state statutes.
  • Analyze title opinions, land contracts, operating agreements, oil/gas leases, broker reports, curative, etc. to determine ownership and lease burden relationships.
  • Work with Land staff to clear and cure title.
  • Process probate information and transfer documents from interest owners to maintain correct division of interest.
  • Maintain and correct divisions of interest as payouts and/or recompletions occur.
  • Review and provide area updates on a recurring basis for respective area and activity.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure proper and timely distribution of revenues and processing of any prior period adjustments.
  • Research legal suspense items and related issues.
  • Review and interpret legal documents/transfers of title to perform mass changes in Enertia Land System.
  • Review and handle re-classes of interest and funds transfers in Enertia Land System.
  • Verify GWI/NRI on non-operated division orders.
  • Familiar with escheat processes.
  • Perform quarterly audits of suspense funds and SOX controls and/or assist with audit requests.
  • Perform routine data input and administration within the Enertia Land System.
  • Familiar with name and address data set-ups and maintenance.
  • Respond to inquiries from mineral owners, title attorneys, other third parties, and internal staff.

Position Summary

Chord is seeking a Sr. Division Order Analyst who will oversee and maintain a specific geographical area of responsibility for the Land team insofar as Division Orders. Responsible for reviewing title, title opinions, agreements, and curative to create ownership decks. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of tasks and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The position is located in downtown Houston, TX and has the ability to work from home Monday and Friday.

Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of record title ownership division of interest for both billing and revenue in the Enertia Land System
